Confluence Advisors Represents Basic PSA, Inc. in Sale Transaction

Confluence Advisors, LLC is pleased to announce that it advised Basic PSA, Inc. (“Basic”) in its sale to Anvil International, a portfolio company of One Equity Partners.

Headquartered in Johnstown, PA, Basic is a leading manufacturer and field service provider of shock arrestors (or “snubbers”) primarily to nuclear power plants throughout the world. A snubber is designed to allow normal thermal movement but protect piping and related systems from unwanted movement caused by seismic disturbances or other transient events.

“Basic’s product lines are highly complementary to Anvil’s Engineered Pipe Supports business in North Kingstown, RI,” said Tom Fish, CEO of Anvil International. “Basic’s service business brings a new offering to our portfolio of customer solutions in the power industry.” Basic will continue to operate out of its Johnstown, PA manufacturing facility.

SilverMill, based in Bonita Springs, FL, is an investment firm led by an experienced group of laboratory and scientific industry executives. PNC Riverarch Capital is a middle-market private equity firm affiliated with the PNC Financial Services Group, Inc. (NYSE: PNC).

Headquartered in Pittsburgh, PA with a chemical production facility in Charlotte, NC, Burrell Reagents is a specialty chemical producer, manufacturer and distributor providing a wide range of chemicals, equipment and supplies used in analytical/test laboratories and production operations.  Customers primarily utilize the Company’s products to conduct internal testing of products for quality control purposes.    

Burrell Scientific, based in Pittsburgh, PA, was acquired in 2013 by an investor group led by Walter Rausch to consolidate and grow the laboratory and scientific products industry. In 2015, Burrell Scientific acquired Reagents, Inc., a Charlotte, NC based producer of specialty chemicals. Under Mr. Rausch’s leadership, the Company made significant investments in processes, people, facilities and technology that enabled the Company to achieve higher than industry growth rates.

With over 30 prime approvals, Orbit, a leader in the NDT industry, specializes in ultrasonic, liquid penetrant, magnetic particle and chemical processing for raw materials, semi-finished and finished products, including landing gear components, airfoils and aluminum wheels.
